Stalking the Welsh Borders
WITH PAUL PRITCHARD
Master Stalker Paul Pritchard has pursued country sports all of his life until being particularly drawn to deer management, which is now his full-time occupation and primary passion.

Paul is certified with Deer Management Qualifications to levels DSC1 and DSC2 and Large Game Hunter, he is endorsed by the prestigious Capreolus Club, which is committed to the betterment of species through the careful selection of sustainable, wild, free-ranging animals.

Paul is also a DMQ Level 2 approved Witness and PDS1 & PDS2 approved Verifier and Witness, so if you need his help with any of these qualifications feel free to contact him.

"The adrenaline rush you get from stalking such beautiful and easily spooked animals is totally incomparable, even if only to watch and learn. You don’t have to always pull a trigger to complete your stalk. If the animal is out of season or not on your cull plan, it goes on it’s way, not even knowing you’ve been watching. What satisfaction you can gain from that alone!
However if it’s on the plan and in season and with a safe shot presenting itself ,the satisfaction is extraordinary and unforgettable!"
- Paul
Paul offers accompanied stalking or high seats to suit your preference. Whether you'd like to cull or photograph an animal, he can help you achieve your goal. If you are looking to gain a qualification, Paul is also an approved verifier for the Lantra and UK Rural Skills Proficient Deer Stalker Course (PDS1). He can provide you with guidance to achieve this Certificate, which is recognised by the Police; if you are considering applying for a firearms certificate or indeed a variation for a deer Calibre this certificate will be a huge help towards achieving it.

With approximately 3000 acres of woodland and farmland in Herefordshire and Monmouthshire to explore, with Red, Roe, Fallow and Muntjac deer all in abundance, there is no better stalking guide opportunity to be found in the area.

"Paul has taught me a lot about hunting deer. From the technical aspects of rifle handling and marksmanship, through to different species behaviour, gralloching, and field craft. He takes the safety and comfort of his clients extremely seriously, and when it comes to rifle safety, he has a professional, no-nonsense approach. I consider him more of a mentor than a stalking guide, but on the subject of stalking, every one of our four hunts have ended with amazing venison. On our last trip we got a trophy Muntjac that is currently being assessed. We know it's a medal, and hoping for Gold! Paul also has a wonderful dog, Elsa, who is a talented tracker and brilliant company. Elsa will find any deer that are about. Don't worry if you're a novice and don't have any equipment, Paul has an incredible set-up, and is fully equipped with professional rifles, optics, quad bikes for extraction, and mobile gralloching equipment. You don't have to worry about spending on any equipment as he has everything you need. Finally, his grounds are beautiful and secluded. I run a small business and getting away to those woods provides a level of escapism and joy I could not find anywhere else. Learning how to hunt with Paul has changed my life, thank you, and here's to many more trips together!" - Client
